On July 17,2017, I finally had my surgery for the gastric stimulator [pacemaker]. I am not shy, this is just one of many of my battle scars of the "wars" I have overcome. The surgery went well. I also had Dr. Abell in surgery as he and Dr Hughes worked together. I had a EDG while in surgery with more biopsies. I tolerated pain medication, and food and was sent home on Tuesday. My daughter had come to visit and so did my son on the same day. I didn't even notice just how bruised up I was until I took these pictures. No wonder I have been hurting really bad. but I still try not to take the pain pills unless I can't stand the pain. Ibuprofen 800 works just as good. I was told I would feel the device move around and flip, but that is normal. Well, last night it happened, it felt like the first time you feel your baby kicking. I have been out 1 time since I have been home. Took my daughter Kroger, my husband took her to Sams. I wanted to take her to Sams to get her the nonperishable. Either way she used our fuel points and still got some things from Kroger she can't get at Sams. Sometimes I buy in bulk anyway because I know she will be in. and she can take at least half of it.
Since the surgery, I have felt like someone who had gastric bypass. I eat very little, and I am still early satiety. They say I could lose this weight now that my a1c should become more normal.
I guess we will find out!. .
